You can install this website on all your web capable devises. A Progressive Web App (PWA) can be installed as you would a "native" app from Google Play or the iTunes Store. The website will load MUCH faster, and much of it will work offline or on bad connections. PWAs work best with Chrome but are also supported by Firefox, Edge (the latest Chromium based version) and Safari.

In 2022, installation is possible on desktops and laptops. You must be using a modern browser. Here is a detailed, updated list of browser capabilities

These steps will add an app icon to your home page / home screen

DESKTOP / LAPTOP

Desktop PWA installation is fully supported by Chrome and Edge. Here is the screen prompt in Chrome. Just tap the icon (highlighted in grey below) to see the popup. Then click Install:

Microsoft Edge

Windows 10: You will see a + button in the Address bar. Select it to get a pop up asking you if you want to install the Progressive Web app.

Windows 11: Click on the icon on the right side of the address bar that looks like three squares and a plus sign (the hover text is “App available. Install [app name]) OR choose Apps from the three-dot overflow menu and then click Install [app name].

Your new app appears in the Start menu, gets an icon in the Taskbar, and can be converted into a desktop shortcut.

PHONES AND TABLETS

Android / Chrome

Almost any version of Android is OK, but you need at least version 57 of Chrome.

With Chrome on mobile, a banner will appear at the bottom of the screen, tap it, then next screen. An icon will appear just like a "native" app.

Safari

iOS devices only, minimum version is 11.3 (iPhone 6s and later). Methods and views vary a bit depending on the device.

Tap on the share button (looks like a box with an arrow pointing upwards. May appear at top and/or bottom of screen depending on which device).

Scroll all the way to the right end of the top row of icons.

Tap the icon labeled Add to Home Screen.

At final prompt tap Add in the upper-right corner.

Click or touch the home icon (with + in it)
